Scanjet 5590
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just did a clean install of Windows 10 64 bit. Went to the HP site to download new Win 10 drivers.

There are none listed although it says they support the 5590 with Win 10.

Anybody got an idea?

My Win10 computer won't even acknowledge the Scanjet 5590 is connected.  It's connected via USB.  The HP website doesn't say whether a driver is available/non-available.   When I download I get some useless help software.   Don't know how to get hold of an appropriate human at HP.

There is somethign called HP support assistant which is supposed find hp devices on your computer  and install the appropropriate device drivers. Although my operating system recognises that I have a Scanjet 5590 the HP support assistant fails to find anything installed.

When I replaced my pc with a much faster model I found that the scanjet youid not communicate with a directly connect usb port- it worked when plugged through a dongle.

Spent HOURS trying to get my 5590 scanner to work.... working with the BS on the support sites..... WASTE OF TIME.  How do you get hold of a human being or get help???????

There is now a driver available (20.0.0.002). However, it crashes every time when installing.

I wonder.... How hard is it to just give me a plain driver? And, when you release it, did you even bother to test it?

It is not the first time that HP is producing poor drivers 😞

Best option for Windows 10 uit download the basic driver here: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?sp4ts.oid=377691&swItemId=cs_111015_1&swEnvOid=4158...

download the windows 8.1 driver Twain Driver Utilities.  'setup_EMC_5590_14-5.exe' file.  its about 13mb and it works perferctly.  Install the software prior to connecting the scanner.
