I received a new Windows 7 HP Elitebook from my company and they have disabled Windows Update.    The company wants to control all updates themselves.   Hence, I cannot install my faithful DeskJet 895Cxi Printer.    Can anyone send me a driver that I can install manually ?   Seems a waste to junk a perfectly working printer.

Thank you.

The post here described in solution 2 how to find the driver on Microsoft's Catalog site.  The 64 bit version is the 11.6Mb one, the 32 bit version is 11.4Mb.

Once you download the cab file open a DOS window and navigate to the directory where you saved the file. Expand the file with the following command:

expand *.cab  -f:*  .\

Then go to the Devices and Printers directory, Add a Printer and say "Have Disc" and then point to the directory where you downloaded the file.  Note that you may need Administrator priv's to add a printer, depending on how the group policies have been set up.

On the HP pages, it seems to mean NOTHING, that one writes the model of a printer to which a driver is needed?
