I just bought an HP Envy 7645. I set up printing on my home network through my MacBook Air (Yosemite) computer and it prints fine from the computer. But everytime I try to print from my iPad, I have failed. Air print finds the printer on the network, and sometimes it has stated it was connected and sending the document to the printer, but nothing reaches the printer and nothing gets printed. But now when the print dialog appears it states that the printer is ut of paper - but there is paper loaded in the printer and I immediately am able to print from my computer. Now when I open the printer preferences on my computer, it says the tray is out of paper, but then I can print from the computer without problem.
How can I solve this? Now on the MacBook in the dialog box it claims it is out of paper, but then prints a document.
I have not been able to photocopy.
THanks for any help. I have spent a couple of hours setting up this printer and trying to make it work.

Hi Alameda,
From what i understand is you are getting out of paper error message when printing from iPad using the AirPrint.
Can you help me with the application from which you are trying to print.
Is it a Photo or a document that you are trying to print.
First lets do a sequential boot, Turn off your iPad, Router and Printer... wait for 30 sec and Turn it back on first Router, Printer and iPad.
Open the input tray on the printer, make sure you have paper loaded correctly and the guides are adjusted appropriately.
When closed you would get the change paper type message, make sure correct media is selected on both regular and photo tray.(If you just have media on regular tray, try to load something on phototray for testing)
Try to Print and see if it works.
If fails can you try downloading the HP ePrint from the AppStore and try printing with the same.
Thanks...

Hi Alameda5997,
The HP Envy 7645 is reporting that one of your trays is out of paper to iOS or OS X Yosemite. This printer has two trays, a main tray (which you most likely have loaded) and a photo tray. Please try loading both trays with paper. This should allow you to print without seeing the warning dialog.
I am an HP employee.

Sorry about the issue that you are still unable to print inspite of clearing the Out of paper error.
Can you check if there is any print jobs struck in the queue. refer document https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT201387
Go to Settings>>Wi-Fi>>Select the network customer using>> Forget this network
Restart your iPad and then connect to the network again make sure that its connected to 2.4ghz if you have dual band router.
Turn Off, Router Printer and iOS device.. start the Router first, Printer and then the iOS device
Not try to Print, if possible try with application like Safari, Notes.. see if it works, if fails
can you go to Printer>> Click on the Wireless Direct Button on the bottom of the display. it would be located left side to the Wireless Symbol .
then you can connect your iPad to the DIRCT-**-HP Envy 7640***
It may ask for password, you can get that from the Wireless Direct Screen.
Try using AirPrint and see if it works.
Thanks
