Hello Stu

I apologize for the confusion. I did not see you stated your printer is the Photosmart C4783, as such the information I provided in regards to cartridge number was for that of the Photosmart C4480.

Your printer did originally come with the HP 121 cartridges.
The HP 300 cartridges should work with a region reset as the HP 300 cartridges are for use in the C4780 series of printer which your printer belongs to.

Thank you. I'll check the options out over the next couple of days then come back on here to confirm.

Hi, Yet again I have wasted imvaluable time because of trying to get a 'good value' replacement cartridge to work.

{Content Removed} If they  sold ink at a decent price then all these complaints would not be generated. The 'stop cheap cartridges' software is getting complex that even genuine cartridge buyers are complaining that their cartridges don't work. {Content Removed}, ink is cheap as chips to produce so why dont you Hewlett Packard be happy with just a medium profit from the sale of cartidges.

Anyway, I could go on and on, but I want you HP to respond to this email and detail to me how to make my nno Parkard 'reasonable priced' cartridge to work. {Content Removed}

Best Regards

Jackmonty. A soon to be non HP buyer.

Third party cartridges vary greatly in quality, but overall the quality is generally poor.  Studies by a third party testing laborotory show a high percentage of refill/reman cartridges are dead on arrival or have short life in the printer.  See here for details.

If you have a problem with poor quality third party cartridges I suggest you contact your supplier for warranty replacements, or purchase genuine HP cartridges with HP warranty.

As for posts from HP employees, the folks that post here are generally doing so on thier own time to help other users.  Most folks appreciate the help, sonme do not.

Thanks! Replacement ink works fine.

Now, Ill check the HP phoneline about the alternative number cartridge - if that works ok, I'll buy local ones.

Hi followed your instructions but I don't get promted with 'alienment' when exiting? The instructions do work but for only one page,it then reverts back to the incompatible ink screen...I Have 2 XL GENUINE HP cartridges installed and this has only started once the cartridges got to the half full mark...

Hi,

I've tried your suggestion below, and it works for a few pages, and then goes 2incompatible cartridge" again. Is there any way to stop this happening again and again ?

Thanks
