Glad to hear it's working for you! It still seems to be hit or miss but hopefully we can get everyone fixed in a reasonable amount of time.

If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

Although I work for HP, my posts and replies are my own opinion and not those of HP.

Hi,

I just went all the way to the UK to buy my 8500A (I live in France)

I cannot for the life of me get the prodyuct update to go through. I thought I was going to go mad with all the different configurations I tried, Manual/Auto IP, resetting Routers, different routers, the works.

Then I came across this thread, and although it's a relief in a sense to see other people having the same problem (a problem shared) it is not at all encouraging.

I have been a loyal HP Printer user for years, Passing my legacy PSCs to relatives when I acquire a new one, however this is the worst set up problem I've come across.

Please Please HPO do something about this soon, else I don't mind driving back to the UK to return it and I will definately then switch brands forever. (I gave up on my last PSC2179 due to difficuylt network connectivity through a NAS and no printer drivers being available.)

You have until the weekend and then I will be spreading the work even further.

Dave-K thanks for your inputs, but although you work for HP, your promises don't seem to be bearing fruit. Hence, no Kudos... Yet. I appreciate you trying to keep our chins up though.

I just tried to enable web services again.  I still get the "the printer was unable to complete product update" message.  It's an 8500A, brand new, latest firmware (I updated over the weekend).  My ISP is Comcast, FWIW.

Help!  I get a proxy message....

I don't understand... my apps were working just last week and now they're not.  I'm so frustrated.
