Where is the DOWN THUMB button saying "No, this did not help" ?

PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED. I should have read more about this printer before buying it!   I never would have bought a printer with no basic features like a Cancel button ON THE PRINTER!    I hate wasting paper!!!

I agree with you 100%   BEYOND FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   And it's frustrating for the PRINCIPAL of the matter, the thought that a company with people whose job it is to approve such design features, and approve the REMOVAL of design features, is actually getting PAID for their job and actually thought this was a smart idea!   How does a brain like that work?  Not in a normal everyday world.

Does anybody from HP read these postings?  People have been sending the same message since 2104 and there's still no easy to stop wasting a lot of paper. HP used to be a good company but my most recent purchases, laptop and printer, have been frustrating to use.

I started this thread in June of 2014 and only one HP person has responded to date.  Maybe they don't know what to do about it.  They are scratching their head and saying ''what do those people want".  Obviosly they didn't test the printer before putting into full production.

I have a print job that keeps resubmitting itself on my 8610 Office Pro. It does not appear in the print queue, and the icon doesn't show up in the computer tray. I have cancelled it 20 or more times from the printer's screen but it just keeps poping back up and trying to print again. It's about 60 pages and one copy was all we needed. I've turned the printer off and disconnected the power cord.

Garison 1...Hopefully you didn't ask for 60 copies before you started to print.  But the print job should show up in your queue.   A long shot...delete your printer and reinstall it.  I know, HP should have fixes for these things.   Have you tried tapping the  x's  on the LCD panel on the front of the printer?  Remember, there are two  x's  to stop a print job.  A circled X at the top and a red X at the bottom.  The circled X shows up first, and you have to be quick, and then the red X at the bottom, again, you have to be quick.

BestBill,

I can't imagine that uninstalling and reinstalling the software won't fix it. I'll let you know if it doesn't. I stood in front of the printer for 15 minutes or more, first touching the x next to "now printing" then the one at the bottom of the screen only to have the same file pop back up at the top after a mechanical shrug from the printer. I was hoping for a more elegant solution but any solution is better than none.

Thanks,

I agree with you wholeheartedly.  There should be an easy way to stop a print job.  I have wasted a great deal of paper trying to stop jobs.  My printer is in the office on the second floor and my Laptop is in the den so needing the computer is a pain!

Please add a CANCEL JOB button!
