HP Photosmart 6520

Do I need to have a cord that connects from the printer  to the computer? I don't think I received one. If so, what type of cord.

Hi,

Your printer supports wireless (WiFi) connection therefore you don't need a USB cable to connect UNLESS you wish to connect this way.

For WiFi, please watch the following video to set it up

Again, if you wish to use USB to connect printer, you have to buy a cable (HP does not supply this cable):

It completely depends upon you which type of connection you want that is wired or wireless. If you go for wired then you need a wire cord. If you go for wireless then you need router access point. Therefore, check Hp Photosmart 6520 Manual and get complete information about both methods.
