My printer stopped printing (WI FI or wired). HP doctor suggested uninstall and reboot re-install software. I did that but at the step where i connect computer and printer nothing happens... I tried several times after turning the printer on/off I am stuck!

I had tried before re-installing and was stuck the same way.

@crispy40,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are unable to install the software for your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126.

This issue could occur if the wireless setup is not correct.

Let's go through a few steps to resolve this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link: Wireless Printer Setup

If the issue persists, then you install the basic software from the link: PCLm Print Driver

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Thanks, but I think I need to return this printer as the "the printer control panel" never worked: it remains dark no matter what button i press.

I originally installed software with the disks but it stopped responding to printing; it's stuck in error state according to what pops up on my computer screen. I tried re-installing with the disks but it doen't seem to work this time.

Thanks for trying

@crispy40,

You are welcome.

I understand that the issue has not resolved after following the steps mentioned in the previous interaction.

This could be a hardware issue with the control panel display.

Hence, please contact HP Phone Support for further assistance at the link: www.hp.com/contacthp

You have a good day ahead.
