HP Recommended
Product: hp c4280
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I installed new HP ink cartridge, Printer will not recognize the cartridge.  I have cleaned the contracts several times as recommended on the forum.  I have also turned the printer off and restarted it.  When I install the old cartridge, it continues to recognize the "old" one.  I assume that there is a defect in the new HP 74 cartridge - anything else I can try?

The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve the cartridge error for your new HP 74 cartridge.  If the steps there do not resolve the issue you will need a replacement cartridge.  If the cartridge is a genuine HP (not a refill/reman) it will have a warranty as described in the document here.
