False Carriage Jam

same major issue with myPhotosmart c7280 printer. Followed all of HP's 6 of 7 step process ( in lieu of service ). In desperation, WD 40 worked !!

turn printer on: Unplug rear  power cord. Open large front door to expose the inks & carriage. Spray WD 40 on a soft cloth& oil the metal rod supporting the carriage, all the way, on all sides of the rod. Manually, carefully move the carriage left to right several times.

replug rear power cord. Printer should come on( front lite ).if not power up again. This worked seamlessly. There never was a paper or carriage jam; mine has a non- removeable print head & was in major stages of using clot buster inks to clear a clogged nozzle, but couldn,t even print a test page, due to the continuous Carriage Jam Error.

Wd 40 to the rescue!!
