Product: HP LaserJet 1536dnf MFP
Operating System: OS X

It was my understanding that this printer will print in color.   What do I need to make it print in color, or was the packaging misleading, and it only prints in b&w?

According to the specification sheet the LaserJet 1536dnf printer is a monochrome device.

Thanks .... I was afraid of that.    The packing box is long gone, but I thought it definitely said it was a color laser machine.  I bought it at Costco & they often have "special runs" of equipment done to their specs.   I probably read it wrong, but I cudda sworn........   🙂
