I have the F2480 Deskjet and I get no response when pressing either copy buttons, b&w or color. I just totally updated my softward and drivers to version 14 and it did not help. A few months ago with my other computer, and version 13 of the software, the buttons were working. My new laptop is a HP Pavilion G6 Notebook. I had printer software version 13 before and the buttons did not work then. I am using Windows 7. What can I do to get my copy buttons on the printer to function? There is no copy selection in the software.

Hi sarahe,

It appears that the control panel buttons are no longer working on this printer.

Do you have an extended warranty?

Hi sarahe,

The copy buttons on the printer are not associated with the software. If you are unable to get them to work then the hardware for the buttons might be having an issue. Let’s try a couple things to see if we can get them working.

1. Make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a power outlet

2. Turn off and remove the power cable from the printer for about 1 to 2 minutes

3. Remove the USB cable which connects the printer to the computer

Try making a copy from the printer, and let me know if you are still having problems?

I have a HP Photosmart C4795.  It still prints fine from my desktop computer, but I can't get it to copy.  When I click the "OK" button to copy, nothing happens.  Please help!

Hi acline,

Is this the only function not working from the front panel display?

Reset the printer

Follow these steps to reset the printer.

  1. Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  2. With the printer turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 60 seconds, and then plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  5. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  6. If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
  7. Try to make a color copy.
