The on/off button is stuck in the off position. I removed the panel cover but was unable to release the botton. Would love to remove the botton entirely witht he printer in the on position.  Then I can use the power cord as the on/off switch until I replace the printer. (This was my favorite deskjet to date, hate to see it go - working perfectly except for the button.)

Hello,

I see that you're having an issue with the power button on the printer. Unfortunately, the print need to be repaired or replaced, the part you are referring to isn't replaceable nor can you take the panel off the access the power button any more than you can with the panel on.

I would suggest replacing the printer.

I am having the same problem with my power button.  was really hoping I would not have to spend the money to replace the printer just because power button is broke!

Yo, I had this happen to me also but, hold on there is a fix yes:smileywink:, a fix. UNPLUG the unit. Carefully remove the cover ( four snap in pegs ) where the switch is located. One at the top, one in the middle, two at the bottom. They seem like they won't pop up but, they will. Once you have it removed, it's connected by a electrical connection. If you look where the button is located, right below it is a VERY SMALL GREEN BUTTON. That's the on/off button. Carefully depress it and that's the fix. When you need it just plug in the unit and when finished unplug it. It's very simple. Good luck to all of us who don't have the funds to purchase a new item because it has a small defect.
