HP officejet pro 8710
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought an HP 8715 at costco but went to staples and their model is 8710..the sales person said the 8715 is a lesser featured model offered just for big box and discount stores..is that true.  When I install with the disk, for the 8715, it keeps referring to and in fact says on the toolbox information sheet I have an 8710..

Can anyone clarify this for me..just want to be sure I have a good model..works fine but for $10 difference I can go back to Staples for the 8710.

Hi,

The HP Officejet Pro 8710 and 8715 are the same product, as part of the 8710 Series.

These are only commercial differences for the same printer, which may apply for different retailers or regions.

You may find its specifications below, te same specification applies for both model:

Thank you for your reply, I assume that means the number 8715 is for certain stores like Costco but functions the same as 8710..so when I look for ink or parts, either number will yield me correct products?   I have it installed and it was so easy I thought I did something wrong..put on a Windows 10 and another vista laptop and pleased so far..much easier to install than a cannon one I had..still a learning curve but enjoyable so far.

In the link you provided, under the section for replacement heads, the 8710 is listed but not the 8715..am I correct in assuming the print head for the 8710 will fit th 8715 and just an omission in the data printed?

Yes, you're correct.

The HP Officejet Pro 8710 or the 8715 uses the same printhead and equipped with the same parts, supplies or accessories.

Reading the information about this models in the link https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04959111 only any models can change the headprint, 8710, 8720, 8730 and 8740, is this correct? The models 8715, 8718, 8720 and 8725 can't change the printhead?

It it is so models 8710 and 8715 not are identicals, please can you confirm is if an error of his information?

Thanks

HP Officejet Pro 8710 and 8715 are techincally the same. The printhead CAN be changed for both models.

The difference is 8710 is Instant Ink ready while 8715 is not.

For 8710, if customer opts for instant ink package during setup, he will have instant ink counter starts once the setup cartridges are inserted.

For 8715, if customer decides to opt for instant ink package during setup, counter will only starts when he inserts the instant ink cartridges sent.

Although I am employed by HP, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
