This would really slow things down.  Can you please provide some addtional information about the printer and what you are printing:

From the device configuration page, what is the firmware version?

From what paper tray are you printing from?

Does this only happen with a specific document or all?

What brand of paper and weight are you printing on?

When you say a few pages, about how many?

I am also going to do a little digging to see what I can find out.

Thanks,

Hi

There is a quick resolution for this

Try below steps

Go to set up> system set up> paper set up> paper type

Tray 1 : paper type > heavy

Tray 2 : paper type > heavy

Paper out action: overide

This should fix this issue 🙂

Hello @vvm

There are a few different possible causes:

1.The pick roller

2.Media

3.Environment

4 printing workflow

The following are recommendations for printers that have Misprint failures:

1.Inspect the pick roller for contamination and excessive wear (flat-spot).

2.Replace the pick roller as needed.

3.Check media weight and type, to verify that it complies with the printer's supported media guidelines.

4. Check the print job work flow for media type and size, ensuring they match:

•Verify media size and type selections in the application and driver.

•Check the control panel/EWS settings for correct media size and type.

I have read many articles/support forums and have replaced parts, adjusted print calibrating setting to NEVER, I should not need to adjust what paper type because this printer has many, many paper weight options and I should be limited.  The cleaning/misprint error is a HP printer issue.  i can't believe that so many people are having the same issue with this specific printer, perhaps the printer is defective.

This issue started as soon as I purchased this printer, and we have two other older versions in our office that work just fine.  The newest more expensiver version is giving me problems and it is the one that i use the most...an no I will not opt to use the other two printers becasue this newer version was not cheap and that sounds like a work-around.  My suggestion is HP needs to research their defective product.  I feel like the previous suggestions are not the solution.

When the printer had older firmware these steps never worked.

As soon as I upgraded the printer to new firmware downloaded from HP site, Firmware Date Code = 20150126

And then tried instructions by Turtle1051 it worked 100 %. Thanks Turtle1051.

Is this a temporary fix or do we need to contact someone for printer maintenance?

HP Laserjet CM1415fn;

Every time it prints more than one page (regardless of document) after printing one, two maybe three max pages it goes into a cleaning cycle, then when it comes out of this it has a misprint error. Click OK to continue and it re-prints the last page printed then goes back to cleaning and back to misprint.

I have tried the suggesstion about setting paper types to heavy and output to over-ride but no luck.

I don't think I have updated the firmware since I bought it a few years ago.

It is running through Imac/Macbook and has been ever since new.
