Hi @GSD21,
A warm welcome to the HP community. A very good day to you. I understand that you require assistance regarding drivers for your HP printer for a Windows XP PC. It will be a delight to assist you.
Spectacular troubleshooting, superb description and splendid analysis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. You are a valued Hp customer and I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you.
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this.
- Did you check the HP support site for the drivers for Windows XP
- Is it Windows XP 32 bit or 64 bit?
Please keep me posted. I will keep a watch for your reply.
Please visit this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Color-LaserJet-CP1510-Printer-series/3422465/mode... please select the correct operating system and follow the on-screen instructions. You could also install the PCL5 or PCL 6 universal drivers. This should do the trick for you. If you are not able to install them, please try this built in drives link: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c01796879
and that should also work in your favor.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you.
