Sorry, lac47.   It is good that it is trying at least.  All I can suggest, other than making sure you have all the right properties set (paper size, paper type, orientation, etc. in all places), is to check the printer itself and make sure everything is seated properly so that there is a clear entry path.  If that fails, I hope your return transaction at Best Buy goes well.

        Although you are able to print from the main tray and the issue is limited to only the photo tray, I suspect the following         document will help; An 'Out of Paper' Message Displays on the Control Panel and the Printer Does Not Pick Up Paper.

I did recently find that there were driver updates, which I downloaded.  I am now able to print on photo paper.  Thanks.
