scanjet G4050
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I installed the software/drivers for my scanjet G4050 on my new deskjet pc using the link from the HP support site (so not my old CD disc). The installation went smooth and successful (at the end congratulations with this HP product).

But starting the scanjet my pc cannot detect it. I tried all suggested steps (check cables, reinstall, and so on), but nothing works. The error is 8 [{1,0-1}} .

Somebody there who can help?

Hi hiddi203,

May you able to scan using the HP scan Extended app instead as a workaround or doen it bring any similar error?

Unfortunately it does not resolve the problem. In the mean time I installed the same software for the scanjet G4050 on my laptop (also windows 10) and here everything was ok and the scanjet works perfectly as it does on my old desktop before I got the new one.

There is a minor typo in the error message as I posted: it should read as follows: 8,[(1,0,-1)]

Any other suggestions to resolve my problem?

I have opened HP Scan Extended and now can use the G4050 for scanning, but the scanning layout on my screen is quite different than the original one. Also the scanning tools/possibilities are less. Also the buttons on my scanjet still donot work.

Any suggestions to get the original software correctly working?
