@DansLaLune

A very warm welcome to the HP community. A very good day to you.

I understand that you have an HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 All-in-One Printer and it does not pick the paper from the paper tray. You have tried to load, clean up and unplug the printer and it did not help. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Is the printer able to make a copy or does it not pick the paper during a copy?
  • Did any changes take place like a paper jam, etc?
  • Are you selecting the correct paper type and size from the print settings?
  • Have you tried printing from multiple applications?

Meanwhile, I did some research on this issue and suggest you to perform the following steps. Please ignore any steps which you have already tried:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

If the issue persists then please perform the steps as described in detail from this link

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to let me know the results. All the best! 🙂

Guess what?! I must be blond. I was loading the wrong tray! I had not installed this printer myself, my hubby did. He came, and just... showed me... sorry and thanks!
