Whenever I print a photo, I get fine black gridlines, horizontal and vertical, all across my photo. I get these whether I print from Photoshop or from the Windows photo program, so I surmise that it is the printer itself that is causing this to happen. Any help for me? I have spent hours trying to work my way through HP support and have not found any solution to my problem. If I have to buy a new printer to get rid of this problem, I will not be buying an HP, that's for sure.

It did not correct my problem. I have what has to be purposeful gridlines, evenly spaced, across my entire photograph. So it looks like a grid has been superimposed over my photographs. None of the proposed solutions applied to my problem, but I did do the diagnostic test and everything was perfect. Whoo-hoo! If only I could print a photo!

Hi,
If the issue occurs onlywhile printing from Photoshop, you might need to check if the gridlines are made visible in the application and check for "print gridlines" option while giving the print command.
Other applications too, you might uncheck any option that says "Print backgrounds."
Do let me know if this resolves the issue.

I had exactly the same problem - very stressful. Anyway I managed to sort it out by:
Exporting my pic from lightroom (orignally RAW format) to a USB and it changes to Jpeg
Opening my USB clicking on the saved pic and clicking on print
I could print A4 - 4x6 - in fact any size - and guess what NO GRID LINES
hope that helps.
