i just bought HP photo smart 5520 wireless printer, and i have mac book with 10.6.7 os install. i'm unable to connect the wireless printer to mac book. printer can connect to my network and once i connect usb wire directly form printer to mac book then it works and it can detect my pritner but once i remove usb cable, it's says unable to find printer on network. also installing driver form CD is not helping, it is not detecting printer.

Hi,

Make sure to update both the HP drivers and the latest OS updtes (10.6.8) by running Software Update.

 

Then try adding the printer under Print & Fax.

 

If the printer still won't appear on the add a printer dialog, click the Wireless icon on the printer screen to ensure it is connected.

Enter the IP address into Safari - can you access the printer homepage?

 

If you can access the printer through the network but not while adding the printer, pleasse let me know your router brand and model to better understand any possible cause.

Hello KCP05,

Thanks for the post.  With this one, it appears the printer is not recognized on your network.  What type of router do you have?  Have you ever been able to connect the printer to your network in the past?  Did you encounter any error messages during the initial install.  Let's check the document links below, the first deals with installation.  Follow the steps for 10.6 and depending on your scanning needs, I might recommend the Apple Software Update first.  Good Luck and let us know the results....
