Laserjet p1102w
Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

The print density setting will not stay on the number I set. I use my printer for packing slips and don't need extra dark printing. It's a pain in the neck to keep going back to the settings menu in the print utility. I've restarted my computer and this doens't seem to help. I would also be interested in finding the economy setting that I've read about in all the tutorials.Where is it??

Hi @artistmary ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP LaserJet P1102W and needing to create a printing preset to black and white or greyscale.

You can set what is called a preset in the Mac 10.6, that you can use black and white or greyscale.

Open a document generally a small document
click on File and Print

select the Paper Type/Quality menu
check the Paper Type and Quality settings are what you need
In the Presets menu click Save As
Name the new Preset and select OK
Try to print.

This should stay until you change it to something different.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
