Google’s Chromebook doesn’t allow you to plug a printer directly into it and and print since you can’t install drivers on it.
You will need a Cloud ready printer.
This link will help you find out if the 1050 is Cloud ready.
You can use Google Cloud Printers so you can print from your Chromebook over your local network.

Why is it that on the HP help forum you can't answer this question without sending the customer off to do their own research? The short answer is that there is no way to connect the 1050 to a chromebook, as I learned this afternoon to my frustration. The "universal" compatibility label on HP's packaging is misleading and should be removed.
