HP Officejet Pro 8610
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had to rebuild my computer.  I reinstalled all the HP 8610 Basic Software and Drivers.  The Scan to Computer executable cannot be found on my computer.  The HP Print and Scan Doctor searches for the printer, indicates it is installed and that it was unable to find the HP scan application software.  It recommends that I download the full software executable and reinstall.  I have done this repeated times and the software is still not loaded.  Nuance's OmniPage Pro indicates that it cannot locate a TWAIN drive for the HP 8610.

When I click on HP Printer Assistant in the Control Panel for the HP 8610, it states that it cannot find the HP Officejet Pro 8610.exe.

Suffice it to say, the printer is also not working.

Any ideas.

Hi,

You need Full Feature Software and Drivers for your printer. Please download the following package and install to your computer.

Regards.

Uninstalled all software, ran Registry Cleaners and reinstalled the software.  Printer works, can scan single pages but cannot scan dual sided pages as pcscantoactivation software is missing.  Windows scan software does not account for scanning dual sided pages.

How do I scan a dual sided document with the HP8610 which does not have a dual sided option.  The HP Scan software only provides for a single sided scan.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the full software package and there is no software being loaded to do this.

I reloaded the software for an HP8610 and HPScan.exe is not in any folder.  This occurs even when I uninstal and reinstall the 8610 Full Software package.  I tried to experiment with loading the software for an HP 8600 and an HP 8640 and HPScan.exe appears in the HP bin folder.  It does not execute since there is no HP 8600 or HP 8640 present on the system.  Interestingly there are folders on the system for an HP 8600 and HP8640 but there is no similar folder for the actual HP 8610 on my system.  I am perplexed.

The HP 8610 is a dual sided printer but only has the native capability to scan one side.  I previously used the HPScan.exe application to scan one side and then reverse the pages for dual sided copies.  The system automatically resorts the scan into the proper order.

Where is the missing software and is there an alternative.  HP Scan and Capture only can scan single sided copies on the HP 8610.

My HP 6810 was installed and printing and scanning correctly.  I went to  another location installed the software for a HP6830 which was at the new location. I can print to the 6830 however when I attempt to scan the HP Software Assistant software keeps looking for the HP 6810 and I cannot scan.  I cannot locate a preference setting to the software and I do not wish to uninstall the HP 6810 software and I will be traveing back and forth betweenthese two locations.  Is there a solution this problem.
