Hi PO12,
I see that the computer isn't recognizing the printer over the wireless network, but the Airprint by your Iphone and Ipad is working properly. I can help you.
Print a configuration page to get the printer's IP address.
Printing a Network Configuration Page.
If you have a valid IP address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer. Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.
If it doesn't load the EWS for the printer, power cycle the router, computer and printer and try again.
Test the printer.
If the issue persists, Download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. Find and fix common printer problems using HP diagnostic tools for Windows?
I have provided a document for the network setup if the issue continues. Restore the printer defaults first. Go to setup, wireless menu, restore network defaults, yes, restore network factory defaults.
Go to step 2.
What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
What operating system are you using? How to Find the Windows Edition and Version on Your Computer.
If you need further assistance, just let me know.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.

Hi, Gemini02
Thanks for your reply.
I have tried and accessed the Embedded Web Server for the printer. I have typed the IP address into Internet Explorer and it loads the printer's network page.
When I ran the Print and Scan Doctor, it stopped halfway through "searching for products" and remained irresponding.
I have also restored the network defaults and followed the network setup provided by you, but it stopped when trying to search for the wireless printer and remained irresponding.
For your refernece, my operating system is Windows 7 home premium 64-bits.

Hi PO12,
Thanks for providing that information, sorry to hear that the printer still isn't being detected through the install.
You might have to temporarily turn off the Antivirus software in case it is interfering.
Since you can pull up the EWS for the printer, it is on the network. The IP address should read 192. or 10. depending on your router. If it is showing a 169. then it isn't connected to your network.
Check the IP address on the computer.
Go to start, type run in the search box, type in cmd, then type ipconfig.
Check the IP address.
Now check the IP address for the printer.
Do the first 3 sets of numbers match?
If they don't then they are not on the same network.
Try and ping the printer.
In the same window, type ping printers IP address (space between ping and IP address)
What are the results?
If everything is alright there, then go to start, devices and printers, run the add printer wizard to see if you can add the printer this way.
Let me know the IP address and if the 3 first sets of numbers matched doing the Ipconfig, if you were able to ping the printer and if the add printer detected the printer. You can always run the add printer wizard and type in the IP address manually.
Thank You.

Hi Gemini,
Thanks for your help.
I have realised the printer ip address (start with 192) is not matching my computer's ip after restoring the default set up last time. The other two sets of numbers (subnet mask and default gateway) below the "ip address" matched. However, I successfully connected the printer with my computer using the add printer wizard provided by you. So I can now print from my computer but many of the functions are still not able to use, for example, "scan to computer", because it cannot find my computer.

Hello @PO12,
I understand you're now able to print a document from following my co-worker steps. I will be helping you out, since you're not able to scan a document. Start off by following this entire HP document on A 'No Computer Detected' or 'Connection Error' Message Displays during Scanning.
You can also follow this HP document on 'Unable to Find Printer' Error Message Displays on the Computer During a Wireless Network Installati... You can try performing a clean boot on your computer and make sure the printer is connected properly with the computer.
Please post your results, as I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Have a great night!

Hi Cheetah12,
All of the above solutions provided did not work. As the "HP Print and Scan Doctor" or even the printer setup software (CD) failed to search for the product (my printer). Therefore I could not access the "Scan action" page, because the first step I have to do is to get the software searched for my product. And whenever I double click the printer icon my my desktop or open it from the hp folder, I was asked to connect the printer through wireless /USB page and when I clicked next, it just could not search for any products and the seaching bar stopped midway and freezed. I have also tried disabling my anti-virus, but it didn't help. Could you please let me know if this is the hp setup software problem or my computer problem and if there is any solution for it?
Thank you for your help.

Thank you for this information. Let's try some more steps to test out your wireless connection:
First step: If you have a Ethernet cable, please try connect this to the router and the printer. This will allow the printer to have a solid connection. Try printing and scanning and let me know if this is successful or not.
Second step: Try putting this printer on it's own network using Wireless direct. Source: Manual
1. From the Home screen, touch the Wireless icon.
2. If Wireless Direct is turned off, touch Settings.
3. Touch Wireless Direct, touch On (No Security) or On (With Security).
4. If you turn on security, only users with the password can print wirelessly to the printer. If you turn off security, anyone with a Wi-Fi device within Wi-Fi range of the printer can connect to the printer.
5. Touch Display Name to display the Wireless Direct name.
6. From your wireless computer or mobile device, search for and connect to the Wireless Direct name, for example:
HP-Print-xx-Photosmart-7520.
7. Try printing and scanning for a couple of hours and let me know if you receive the same issue.

Thank you for trying this step. I would recommend contacting your router manufacturer for further assistance. You can let them know some of the steps you tried. You're receiving the same issue even with an Ethernet cable, which should have a solid connection. Good luck
