Hi! I've been trying to set up my printer, installed the software, connected the printer to the internet. I ran the HP easy start. Now I'm getting a screen that says "loading" with a blue spinning circle. This has been present for 20-30 minutes. I'm not sure if something is wrong or if it just takes a long time to load.

Hi,
i can see you have listed your operating system as 10.8 (Mountrin Lion).
The printer is supported on 10.9 or later OS X versions, nor HP Easy Start and it is not expected to work on OS X 10.8.
You may find the system requirements listed below, to install the printer the operating system must be updated to a later version:

Yes it is.
I suggest restarting your router, than both the printer and the Mac and try following HP Easy Start again.
If the same persists install the following drivers:
Next go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners and add the printer,
Be sure to select the printer model within teh Use drop down menu.
Finally install HP Easy Scan below:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hp-easy-scan/id967004861?mt=12
That provides the same functionality including the essential software and HP Easy Scan as provided by HP Easy Start for your printer.
Please let me know if you may experience any difficulties,
Shlomi
