Cartridges won't align. No error messages and no recent software or driver changes. Have now tried 2 different new color cartridges and have also replaced the black ink.
I have read some of the previous posts however I think I might need a photo of the sensor and / or the contacts. I'm not sure I'm finding the correct areas.
Someone's help would be much appreciated!

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Officejet g85 All-in-One Printer and the cartridges do not align. You have replaced the black and color cartridges and still, it does not align. I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
It is possible that the alignment sensor is fogged. You may be able to resolve this by cleaning the underside of the sensor with a cotton swab. The sensor is a small black protrusion about 1/4" wide and 3/4" deep that is connected in the lower right side of the carriage near the back side.
Hope this information helps. Let em know if you have any questions. Cheers! 🙂

Thanks so much for your reply. I had actually seen that suggestion in earlier posts and tried, however, I do think that this time I actually found the lens. Is it the clear / white piece of plastic that is actually underneath? If so, I have cleaned it and I still get the alignment failed message.
Also, I'm realizing that there is no color ink printing. This actually was the case before and I forgot to include.
Any other suggestions?

You're welcome and thanks for attempting the steps. 🙂
Yes, that is correct. As the issue persists, I suggest you to contact HP phone support and explore the service options for the printer.
Please keep me posted for any questions. All the best! 🙂
