hp K209a deskjet
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I have an old printer hp K209a that suddenly doesn't want to print.

It used to feed paper halfway and then get stuck.

now, the orange light is blinking and the exclamation point is also blinking over a piece of paper (display )

the hp support indicates a paper jam but there is no more paper inside the printer.

Sometimes, the roller keeps on rolling as well but now, the orange color just blinks continuously with the exclamation point.

How can I get my printer to work again?

  • Have you bypassed power strips?
  • Did this happen after a power outage or surge?

It looks like a hardware issue with the printer and it may need a replacement.

For starters, please follow all the prescribed steps in the document for paper jam: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Deskjet-Ink-Advantage-All-in-One-Printer-series---K2/3811342/...

Please check this link for flashing lights also: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Deskjet-Ink-Advantage-All-in-One-Printer-series---K2/3811342/...

If this does not fix the issue then the printer needs to be replaced or upgraded by contacting HP phone support.

Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/

Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect

Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"

Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number, Case number and phone number appear. They will be happy to assist you immediately. If the unit is under warranty repair services is taken care of by the manufacturer’s warranty

Hope this helps.   I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂  Please reach out for any issues and I'll always be there to assist you. 🙂

Hi and thanks for your quick response earlier.  To be honest, I didn't find anything new in what you had replied as far as a solution to my problem.  I was able to find almost all your suggestions in the hp website and other sources.   I think it is time to junk my printer.  Already bought another hp 4675.  Thanks for the help

It seems to be a hardware issue.

I request you to contact HP phone support for further assistance on your old printer.
