HP Laserjet 1020
Microsoft Windows Vista

I have had my HP Laserjet 1020 for a few years now and it's been wonderful.  For some reason, today it decided to stop printing.  It all works and goes through the process, just as it has printed a page, but the page is blank.  I have purchased a new HP toner cartridge and replaced the old and it is still not printing ink to the page.  Any suggestions to help fix?  Thanks!

I read your post and see that you are getting blank pages, you replaced the toner and still have the same results. I would be happy to help you today.

Make sure all the packing material is removed from the toner. Replacing Cartridges for HP LaserJet 1018 and 1020 Printer Series. If you didn't already, gently rock the toner from front to back to distribute the toner evenly.

 

I have provided a document for checking the driver settings, trying to print a Windows test page and resetting the printer. This model doesn't have a hardware self test to check the printer's functionality. It may just be software related.

If you are still having issue, download and run the Print and Scan Doctor. It will diagnose the issue and might automatically resolve it. http://www.hp.com/go/tools>Using HP Diagnostic Tools for HP Printers in Windows.

 

If you have another computer available, try printing from it to see if the results are the same.

 

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print, any error messages)

Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
