I have a HP Laserjet Pro MFP 477fdw printer.  The extended life toner cartridge is 410X, which should fit in the place that te current 410A cartridges are.  It doesn't.  It's too tall.

Is there a trick to replacing the 410A  toner cartridge with the 410X?

Hey @SandyC-wshwe

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I see you are finding is difficult to install a new toner cartridge on your printer. I will be happy to help.

I did go through the 410x list of compatible printer and your model of printer does support it.

Recommend you to remove all the packaging material including the orange clip on the side for the toner to fit correctly.

Please go through this article for assistance, it also includes a video which should help you.

Keep me posted.

I actually figured it out ... each of the four 410X toner cartridges are a different size (height) so they fit into the downward slanted tray.

I was accidentally trying to fit the black cartridge into the cyan space - hence the experience of the cartridge being too tall to fit in the tray.

All is well now.
