More often than not, I go to print wirelessly to this printer from one of our laptops and it will not print.
Whenever this happens and I run a wireless test, the printer is always fine.
The printer shows up in my devices window and appears to be fine.
Troubleshooting never results in an answer.
Usually when this happens, the print spooling window that shows the status of print jobs says the printer is offline. I removed the checkmark beside 'use printer offline' last time this happened, and lo and behold it worked. I'd tried that before to no avail, but thought maybe it was fixed once and for all this time. Especially since I saw in another post that this fixed someone else's problem.
Tonight, it won't print, doesn't say anything about being offline, but just says 'error' in the status column. No other info.
At the top of the list in the window where I can set as default, select to use offline, etc., the word 'connect' appears. It is not an option... the word is greyed out where all the other words are in black type, and clicking on it has no effect.
I can always select the printer of course, the laptop sees it on the network and it appears normal until you try to print.
It doesn't seem to matter which laptop I use, I'm having this issue with both. I also had similar issues with this printer using an entirely different wireless network and laptop. So I don't think it's the laptop, OS, or anything with the network, just the printer itself.
Suggestions? I wish there were a quick fix. I'm beginning to think it's faulty.

Hi SRS12,
Is you printer's Model # D110 a or b? Here are some steps I take for a quick fix when a printer was working wirelessly and suddenly quit working.
- Make sure the print queue is empty. If you clear it or if it was already empty and you cannot print, take the next step.
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows. If there is no change, continue with step 3.
- Reset your wireless network as described in the following link. Click Here
Let me know the results.
Good Luck !

Thanks! I am going to try those steps immediately, and let you know what happens.
Is there an easy way to know if it is an A or B? I'd noticed that there were two models when I was attempting to research this problem, but the only markings on the printer itself say D110 series, and so far the only info I come across in the software and printer control panel software says the same. I have the original disk and documentation somewhere, but not handy.

Yes, the easiest way to determine the version of the printer is to print a status report. To do this, select the Wrench button / Tools / Printer Status Report. Can you give me the Product # of the printer from that report?

Quick update, after running the HP Print and Scan Doctor a second time, I could print the test page... The first time the printer had shut itself off sometime during the process. Hooray! And thanks!!! Hopefully this will fix every time an issue arises! I'm printing the network reset instructions also just in case.
One other odd thing I've noticed about this printer. It gave me an error message about incompatible print cartridges after the successful print. "The following print cartridge(s) is/are not intended for use in this printer as it is currently configured. Black, Tri-Color." The few times I did get it to print before it stopped working entirely it was doing this. The printer states it uses HP cartridge #60, and the cartridges are HP 60xl. Is the XL a problem or is this just a crazy message? I've had this printer a while, and these cartridges have been in it for some time also. I'm not sure why I'd be getting this message now and not when I first installed the cartridges.

You have a D110a.
Glad you are printing again.
The 60XL is not a problem. Are the cartridges new (or new when you first installed them) HP brand non-refiled cartridges? You could try a Hard Reset as described in the link. I am also linking a troubleshooting document for Incompatible Cartridge. Click Here
