hp print and scan doctor doesn't work

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I run hp print and scan doctor.  It never displays a user interface.  I can see that it is running in the task manager.  How is it supposed to work?

Don't remember how it fixed itself, but it IS working nowadays.  I was looking for another problem and saw this post so thought I give it a resolution.
