Product: deskjet 940c
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have the above deskjet printer. I have just installed a colour and black ink cartridges (78 & 15). The RED light is flashing, and I cannot get it to print.

Can you advise what I can do to solve the problem ?

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! After reading your post I see that red light is flashing on your HP Deskjet 940c printer. I would like to help you out with this issue today.

  • Perform a hard reset on the printer.
  • Remove the power cable from the printer when it is turned on.
  • Press and hold the power button for 60secs.
  • Connect the power cable to the printer and directly to the wall outlet.
  • Remove the ink cartridge, clean the copper contacts and reseat it.

Click here and follow the steps mentioned in the document to fix this issue.
