Look at the images, that's what happen when I print or calibrate printheads. I recently replace the belt but the problem started before. What can I do? Clean or replace printheads?IMG_1284.JPGIMG_1284.JPG

Hello, @lorestar - Hope you are well 🙂

Allow me to welcome to HP Support Forums! It is a great platform to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others!

Going through your post, I see that you are having very bad ink smear while trying to print using your HP printer. I would be glad to help you fix the issue 🙂

To assist you with the specific steps, I would need to know the following details:

  1. What is the product number / model number of your printer?
  2. What is the operating system on your PC?
  3. Also, you stated that you replaced the “belt” on your printer. Could you please explain it further? Which belt and from where did you get it replaced?

Alternatively, I would suggest performing a power drain and the making a copy on the printer (If your product is an all-in-one printer):

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
  • Try making a color copy and let me know the result.

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Good luck 🙂

Dear DVortex,

unfortunatly I can't completely do the process you told me bacause at this point

  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

as I plug power cord, the printer power on by itself doing starup. Anyway, the color print obtained the same result, ink smears.

Thanks
