My HP printer leaves an ink smudge on the left side of large(5 3/4x8 3/4)greeting card envelopes. Tried doing a head cleaning....did not help. Occurs only on this size paper source.

Hi Deb64,
Thank you for contacting HP Forum.
May I know what you did you use for cleaning and which part of the printer you have cleaned?
1.) Please try solution three on this link. If still issue persist, I suggest solution number 2.
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c03325470
2.) Try to print a blank document, Maybe a word document with no texts at all. Then you send the file for print so that you can get rid of any left over ink residue. Please do this several times until you get a clean paper during output ejection.
3.) If you are printing at "best" mode maybe you can try to print in "normal" or "draft" mode and see if it will help. Try to flatten the envelopes as well.

Hey there
You may want to clear the roller instead of the cleaning the cartridge. You may used a clean, lint-free cloth, or any cloth that does not come apart or leave fibers. Used Distilled, filtered, or bottled water (tap water might damage the printer).
BTW Is the greeting card enveopes one of the supported media for this printer ? Please remember Do not use shiny or embossed envelopes or envelopes that have clasps or windows.
Hope this help.

Hi Deb64,
Have you tried my suggestion #2 to print a blank page? Maybe a word document with no text at all.
If after one print you still see, try several times until the paper is clear.
Are you seeing same issues even when you print at "Normal" or "Draft" mode?
