Printer:

HP ENVY 7640 e-All-in-One Printer

I can offer the following:

Absolute boundaries, the minimum print margins, are explained in the Printer's Specifications > Paper Handling > Print Margins

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Use Insert (as opposed to copy / paste) when placing images into a document
  • If images will not stay contained in spite of margins:
    • Insert a Text box of the size necessary to contain the image
    • Insert the Image / artwork inside the empty text box

I used insert when the clip art was add to the document and when I view the document in print preview it looks fine. But when I print the document the clip art takes up the same space as on the preview but it is almost like the clip art is zoomed in and parts are cut off.

The "line spacing" is somewhat obtuse -- that is, the benefit of adjusting the line spacing does not necessarily show up on the document or even in the Preview.  Hard to explain.  Of course, it may not be the problem - it was worth mentioning.

One thing that might work:

Open the Word document > Use Snip to create a new little image of the artwork > save the little image as a .jpg file

Remove the existing artwork from the document

Insert the new image file >

Adjust the size > Use "tight" to allow the image to sit in with the lines of text, if desired

The idea of creating a different / separate image of the artwork is that .jpg files created in this way differ from true clip-art.  Recreating the data (image) might allow you more control over the placement, size, formatting.

Ended up on the phone with HP support, it took over an hour only to find ou there is some kind of flaw in the printer software that caused the problem. The tech installed the drivers for a  diferent printer, a deskjet 9800 and now everything prints fine.

Spent 1.25 hours with HP finally got supervisor.  Needed higher level printer driver for my OJ Por 6830.  Updated to 8600 and image prints fine now.

Hi,

I have exactly the same problem with the new HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M477.

This is really annoying?

What to do?

Is there a solution?

Which additional driver do I need to install?

Kind regards,

Lee

Hi, HP Printers for some reason cut off the RHS and bottom of images when printed that have been cut and pasted into a Word document. The images look perfectly normal when in Word document but the printer  always cuts off bottom and RHS when printed.

A way to avoid this is to use the Word Insert feature to capture and insert the desired (cut and pasted) image as follows:

Open Word.

Select Insert

Select Screenshot

Select Select Image

Select screen you want to copy and select dotted area to copy

Dotted image is then automatically inserted into Word doc.

Word doc can then be printed on HP printer without losing any of pasted image.

I have messed around trying to capture images in JPG etc to get the printer to work properly without much success, but this method works.

Regards,

Bazos

the issue wasn't the printer settings or print margins or but rather a glitch in HP printer driver that comes with the OfficeJet Pro 6830.  When directed to upload the K8600 printer driver for teh HP 6830 it immediately fixed the problem.
