The only file I can get access to is lj1020-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe

When I run this, the wizard continues until the window 'HP LaserJet 1020 driver' window appears with "Installing" at the top and another message 'Waiting for user to connect the device' - this wait is ongoing and I have tried connecting and reconnecting the printer - same cable same printer - works fine with Windows XP and Vista.......where to from here?

HP Recommended

Hey!

Extract  "lj1020-HB-pnp-win64-en.exe" with Winrar and go to device manager as shown in video tutorial at youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OSzvW4gMIU

Hi,

HP LaserJet 1020 Printer Drivers for windows 7

good luck

HP Recommended

Here is how I installed the driver (french version) for my Laserjet 1020 on Windows 7:

        1.  I downloaded the driver lj1020_1022-HB-pnp-Win64-fr.exe and saved it.

        2.  I right-clicked on the file and chose Properties, then Compatibility and chose

              Windows XP (Service Pack 3).

        3.  Then, I double-clicked the file and the driver installed itself.

Windows 7 raised a flag telling me there is a problem with that driver but I print what I want without problem.  So

I just ignore the flag.

I read that someone suggested to uninstall Internet Explorer. DO NOT DO THAT.  I use Mozilla Firefox as my main browser but some Microsoft Software ignore it and still use Explorer when I use links to the net from inside those softwares.  So beware.

Good luck!

Denis
