HP Laserjet M203DN
Microsoft Windows Server 2003

Hello,

i am currently trying to install a new printer on an old Windows 2003 R2 std Edition server. (virtual machine)

i cannot get the drivers to successfully install on the machine. when i unpack and run the setup, i get the message that the operating system is not supported.

I downloaded LJM203-M206_UWWL_LJUW_Basicx86_1095.exe

(47.3 MB) from the site http://support.hp.com/be-nl/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-m203-printer-series/9365400/model/93...

i have also tried to unpack the exe myself and install the printer by pointing to the drivers. this did not work either.

We have a printserver (windows 2012 ) on which i was able to install the printer on. This went super easy and quick.

I then tried on the 2003 R2 server to add the printer \\printserver\printername and it tried to install it. Something keeps going wrong when trying to copy the driver files over.

What should i try to do? it is of great importance that I get the printer working on this server.

Sincerely,

Nicolas

when adding the printer to windows, i selected the driver 'HP Laserjet' and it seems to print fine now.
