Hi marie22,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand you want to know if you can print iron on transfers with your HP Envy 4500.

I will be happy to help you.

In the specifciations it doesn't show that the printer supports iron ons but you can use advanced photo paper as the paper setting which would be the closet match.

HP ENVY 4500 e-All-in-One Printer Specifications.

It could smudge the ink on the printhead a little bit and you would have to run a cleaning.

It is up to you whether you want to try it.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.

Have a nice day!

In my HP Envy4500 Paper Type there is a setting for "HP Iron-on transfers" which I can select.

However where in printer settings do you say to reverse the image so that it prints backwards and can be ironed on?

Hello kozaking,

Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums! 🙂 Yes, the iron on transfer paper is compatible with your Envy 4500. However, there is no reverse setting or mirror image in the newer software.

You can paste the image into a paint program and reverse the image that way as a workaround.

I hope this helps!

Yes using Paint worked however is a pain to do multiple steps.
Is there a HP printer that does have a mirror setting in print settings to do this task more easily. Sometimes I need to only print reverse text for tshirt names.

Hi @kozaking,

@HevnLgh is gone for the weekend but I tought I would reply to save you time waiting for a response.

You are right that having to use MS Paint to mirror the image is a little more work, but currently there are no printers, at the consumer level at least, that have a mirror setting. Anything you want to print a miror image of needs to be made a mirror image with some other software before sending to the printer to be printed.
