I have a Photosmart Plus B209 all in one printer on Mac OS X 10.75

Error messsage: 0-61011bec  (this error message reverts to "0x610000f6" on the HP site.)

My printer started making a knocking noise when trying to print. It started after changing a cartridge.  I thought it was because I forgot to remove the tape from the top of the cartridge but after removing that, it kept up with the knocking noise. I went through all the steps in the video for Fixing a carriage Jam for this printer  (power down and back on, checking for torn paper, removing and reinserting each cartridge, and checking the arm on cartridge holder, etc) but although it printed out the Printer status report and also prints out documents it is still making a knocking noise before and after printing.

I saw one thread on this problem which linked to a document on how to clean the rollers but that link didn't work. My rollers are dusty.

Can someone tell me how to clean the rollers or what else might be wrong.

Hello there @Lorel509 , welcome to the forumsSmiley Happy

I understand you are hearing some noise coming from your Photosmart Plus when you print. I would suggest as mentioned and clean the rollers as good as you can within the printer!Smiley Happy

Click this link and scroll down to "Solution three" to see the proper instructions:

Solution three: Clean the rollers

I really hope that helps you!

If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions: click here.

I cleaned the rollers as stated but it's still making a loud knocking noise.

It prints the status report and other papers (even the instructions) but makes a lot of knocking while the rollers are rolling before and after printing but not during.

My husband says it sounds like it has stripped a gear.

Could there be anything else wrong?

I figured out the problem. I just needed to restart my computer and then tried installing again and then it worked.

Please ignore my post above. That comment was for another HP printer. The knocking noice on this printer is still not solved.
