I have started to have issues with my printer color quality as the magenta color bleeds to all black and white printing.  When I open the back of this printer and inspect the foam roller bar, it is colored with the magenta toner.  I beleive this is where that color is transferring to my print copy.

Is it worth it to purchase a $90 replacement cartridge to see if that resolves my issue, or just use those monies to invest in a new printer as this one is 4-5 years old?

I've tried cleaning the roller in the back of the printer, but doesn't seem to make much difference.  Could my cartridge be defective or  is it time for a new printer?

Hello, is the cartridge reman or OEM? Also, have you replaced the toner recently? Another thing to check and see is make sure the contacts for the magenta toner are clean as it seems like the machine is reading there to be magenta when there does not need to be.

The cartridge is a remanufacture.  I replaced the original HPs with reman when they all needed replaced.  The magenta is the only one with an issue.

I've cleaned the contacts and reinstalled the cartridge.  The problem is still evident so I've ordered a HP cartridge to see if that might resolve my issue.  If not then a new printer is in my future.

If you have the old OEM toner still I would check to see if the issue happens with the OEM one, just for grins.
