Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw started to print VEEERY SLOOOW. It says "printing document" and does not do it for a while. Then it prints. If it is multiple pages, it takes - sometimes -  a long break between pages.

Hi @ykray,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I read your post and see that the printer is printing really slow. I will certainly do my best to help you. If this helps you to reach a solution, please click the "Accept as Solution" button down below in this message. If you wish to say thanks for my effort to help, click the " Thumbs Up " to give me a Kudos. :generic:

Try and print a hardware self test on the printer to find out if it is a hardware or software issue.

Go to Setup, Reports, Configuration Report.

Let me know if it prints at normal speed.

How is the printer connected?

Update the printer's firmware, to see if that will help: M225_M226_Series_FW_Update-20150609.exe

Temporarily turn off any Antivirus Software and try printing again, to see if you have the same results.

If you are still having issues then I would bypass the router altogether, if the printer is networked. Just to see if it prints faster with a USB connection.

How far is the printer from the router?

A nearby device that emits radio signals (such as a microwave or cordless telephone) might interfere with the wireless connection.

What is in between the printer and the router? (wall, ceiling)

What network setup do you have? (Modem/Router/2 Routers/Booster/Airport)

Did the printer print faster by a USB connection?

Please let me know the results and if there is anything else I can help you with.  Thank you.

I just bought this printer (MFP M225dn) and it's sending print jobs to the printer REALLY slow. It also prints pretty slow when there's more than 1 page to print. I've tried what was listed about firmware updates and network connectivity but nothing works. It's just plain slow! It's frustrating.

I've had my printer for about 3 months and I've tried everything this forum has suggested AND googled the problem to see if others have same problem (AND THEY DO!) to see if someone has a fix. Seems HP can't get it right? I would like to hear from someone who actually has this model printer AND has a fix. Software and firmware are up to date and I've power cycled AND did settings with various selections, and yada yada yada.

Thanks

Let me know if HP solved this problem.  My (same) printer was great for about a month and then just starting doing the SLOW printing the last three days.  It doesn't look liike HP has posted a fix for this.  Thank you.
