Scanjet G3110
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have been told that libexpatw.dll is not a windows file. I only get this error when I try using my scanner, which I had to reinstall due to a replacement hard drive. same OS same scanner same installation CD. it still is running on my old hard drive. yet libexpatw.dll is not present on that drive at all. so why is it that I need it now? why isnt it supplied on the CD?

I have tried downloading the "Setup Full G3110" from the HP website and libexpatw.dll is not supplied with that either as well as an older copy that I downloaded a couple years ago. No combination of installing uninstalling reinstalling rebooting works.

Windwos sees my scanner, I can even scan with it from the Devices section of control panel, tho it is a stripped down interface. So why is it that HP software has so much trouble with an HP scanner? I could understand if it wasnt supported maybe and I didnt have the CD and had to rely on some flaky 3rd party software, but come on HP if you need a file then supply it!!! this should be a seamless process.. I bought this scanner 5 years ago when I upgraded to windows 7 because YOU STOPPED SUPPORTING my last scanner that was working perfectly. so its been 5 years.. and you still dont have customer install issues resolved?
