Hey there! @autolab11, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!
I understand that you get lines while making copies from ADF.
Don't worry I'd like to help.
Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC or printer?
Please try updating the firmware for your printer and check if it helps.
Link to update printer firmware.
Also, try performing a hard reset on your printer.
Resetting the printer can force some types of scanners to calibrate which might fix the problem.
Remove any items from the scanner glass and automatic document feeder (ADF), then close the scanner lid.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.
Wait at least 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into a wall outlet.
HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
Load the original document or photo, then try to copy.
Refer this article to further troubleshoot copy issues with the printer.
If the issue still persists it is a hardware issue, please contact HP support for service options.

Hope this helps!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Sometimes the little mark on the Auto Document Feeder glass is nearly invisible. Make a copy of a blank piece of paper from the ADF- Is the line there? Make a copy of a blank piece of paper from the big glass- Is the line there?
If the line is on the copy from the ADF but not the flatbed glass, then you have a tiny blob of ink on the ADF glass. The ADF glass is the 1/2 smaller piece of glass on the left side. If you lay the copy with the line on it face up on the big glass- you will have a reference point for where the mark is on the ADF glass. Sometimes, I have to shine a flashlight on the ADF glass, or just scratch the glass where I think the mark is with my fingernail to remove it.
