Hi 2Charlie,
I hate to hear you are having issues. If all steps to reset the password have been completed without resolution, an initialization reset may resolve the issue. If successful, this would reset the printer to factory defaults and clear the memory. Saved settings will be erased. If you want to give this a try, I can send the steps in a private message to your HP Forums in-box. I would need you to agree not to publish the steps. Let me know what you decide.

Yes, as long as the reset to factory also resets the admin password. Please send me the instruction. Will you also send information on how to set the administrator password once I have it reset to factory default?
Thanks!

Hi 2Charlie,
Thank you for your response. I will send the steps for the reset in a private message shortly. Have you tried changing the password through the embedded web server or HP Jetdirect? Try this method prior to completing any steps for an initialization reset, as it should be used as a last resort. If you decide to complete the reset, I encourage you to contact HP technical support via telephone to assist with the process. Please see the below link regarding these types of resets, as a process error can result in product damage (HP and I are not responsible for any damage caused). If you are still experiencing issues after all steps have been completed please contact HP technical support to explore all options available based on warranty status. Global contact information can be accessed Click Here.

Please Click Here for specific instructions for using the embedded web server/HP Jetdirect
