I have a basically brand new printer that has suddenly started giving load tray 1 error message when I send a print job from my Toshiba laptop. It is full of paper, no jams, mechanically ok. I can copy without problems so the tray is ok. I have went thru all of the suggestions from Microsoft online such as unplugging printer for 60 seconds, rebooting PC, going to service area and stopping printer spool, deleting and restarting spool. Help! Please!

Lets make this real simple. When the printer tells you to load tray 1 it means the size and or type of paper being asked by the print job does not match the same that the printer thinks it has in the tray. The tray 1 message on the printer should be telling you what size and or type of paper it wants you to load which should give you a hint as to what setting in the print job is not correct.

Thank you for your input. Unfortunately the print job setting is correct. directed to tray one with plain paper. Tray one is full of plain paper.

I have the same problem but one day it worked and the next it came up with the error message. I have checked and there is no blockage but it still wants to print from tray 1.
