Laserjet Pro MFP M225dn
Microsoft Windows Server 2008

My new M225dn will not save manually set IP address - I enter the IP address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway and it says 'Settings saved' but I cannot ping the address and when I go back into the printer setup the IP address is blank (000.000.000.000) but the subnet and gateway are listed as I entered them. I have updated the printer with the latest firmware but it made no difference. All suggestions gratefully received!

It works fine if I set it to DHCP which is of no use whatsoever in our manually addressed networked environment but at least proves the networking functions actually work.

Hi @Botton,

I see that you are having issues with the fixed IP saving in the printer's Embedded Web Server. I would be happy to help you.

Since it works with it set to DHCP, most likely you will have to make sure that it is outside of your router's DHCP range.

The fixed IP address you are using might not be in range. Through the router software it should provide which IP addresses are already assigned to other devices.
Do you have a dual band router?
If it is set to 5 GHZ network you may need to change to 2.4 GHZ. (rename the 5ghz or shut it off)
The WPA key setting needs to be on AES to work correctly not TKIP.

If you are still having issues, please contact your router company or the IT department for setting up the fixed IP for the printer.

Have a nice day!
Thank You.
