HP Recommended
HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fdn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

so, the scanner on the m477fdn has become inaccessible.

I have tried the full setup file (HP COLOR LJ PRO MFP M477 PCL 6 V3 FULL SOLN 22046 16 0 22046 719 MAR 21, 2022) on numerous machines and OS' (windows 10x64, windows 11x64, etc) all the same result.

recently, i did a full reset of one of my machines with a fresh install of window 10x64, and fresh install of the hp m477fdn s/w, same error..

please help me see what i am missing - thank you

here is the kicker

3rd party scanning software works fine (adobe scan, abby fine reader, etc), it does not matter the machine, it is the same situation.

this leads me to think there is a setting somewhere that is prohibiting the "HP CLJM477 Scan" for operating correctly. none of the "tips" on the error screen proved successful and several google searches yielded the same result... nothing
