We recently switched over from our old OCE to HP M880ZM MFPs. We're quite satisfied with them but there is one annoying problem:

When we sent a single job to this printer everything goes allright but when we sent 10 jobs at once (10 small 2-page PDF documents) this takes ages (minutes)! It doesnt matter if those are large or small documents. Prints seem to spool very fast but remain on printing status for minutes.

The odd thing is when we sent exactly the same 10 jobs to a cheap 1606DN printer it spools and prints in seconds.

What we've tried to do already:

  • We tried both the universal and the "fixed" M880 driver, different versions and operating systems (MAC OSX, Windows 10, 2008R2)
  • Tried multiple M880 machines (all have this problem)
  • Tried secured and unsecured printing for direct and box printing
  • Factory defaults
  • Different network port settings 10/100/1000 HD/FD auto
  • different jobs: 10 PDF or 10 txt files doesnt make sense
  • Even one 20MB PDF print will be handled faster than ten 100KB PDF files.

Since we often print in job batches (material/stock lists out of our ERP system) this is really annoying. Is there anyone that has an idea about? Can imagine there are more customers with this issue? :mansurprised:
