I have a Compaq laptop running windows 7.  I also have an Officejet 6700 wireless printer.  About a month ago my printer quit working.  Device manager said there was a problem with MICROSOFT TEREDO TUNNELING ADAPTER DRIVER.

I took my laptop to Staples where I had purchased both laptop & printer.  They referred me to an expert who works for them.

The"expert" just removed the driver said when I reinstalled the printer it would be fixed.    WRONG   The expert no longer works for Staples.  I can only print using my USB connection.  No one seems to know what to do

Hi jaduling,

I understand that you are getting a message that the Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter has a problem and the Officejet 6700 isn't working on the wireless.

I have provided a document which explains what the Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter is used for and how to reinstall it. Step By Step Guide To Install Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter. If you don't feel comfortable going into the registry, please contact the computer manufacturer to walk you through the steps. Always back up the registry before making any changes. How to back up and restore the registry in Windows.

Since the printer is already setup through a USB connection, follow this document to convert the printer from a USB connection to a Wireless connection.

Installing the Printer Software on a Wireless or Wired (Ethernet) Network.

Go to step 4.

If you need further assistance, just let me know.

Have a nice day!
Thank You.

I tried to get an updated adapter, but neither microsoft not HP could help since "it doesn't exist".

I get the impression Gemini02 offered instructions on resolvong the same problem (for a different printer), but would it work for me?

I have an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m; I think it's also called "HP887E4D".  Although it will print, my device display indicates the yellow triangle (and the exclamation mark within it) has trouble, and after running the troubleshooter, the  results are the same as above the "teredo tunneling adapter is missing".

Does anyone have answers to correct the problem?

Hello @Wayne5400,

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you also have the Teredo Tunnel Adapter Driver error. I would like to help you resolve this issue.

If you are using the Windows 7 operating system, then I would try the steps from the previous post.

Keep me posted!
